A new year and a new contest!!

I hope everyone had a great holiday season full of wonderful things to eat!

One of my best holiday surprises is that I heard from cookbook author Sharon Bowers!! She not only wrote me, but she sent me a gift of cookbooks, and I’m going to share the love with my readers, which means I have cookbooks up for grabs!

To enter the random drawing, simply enter a comment below describing your favorite Valentine’s Day treat or recipe–it’s coming up pretty soon, you know!

    Hi Eve,

I have a great contribution although I can’t take credit for it, perhaps it wouldn’t be right to consider me for receiving a cookbook…but the treat is SOOOO easy and yummy I just had to share it with everyone looking for a fun Valentines idea. Here is the link for easy chocolate truffles.

Only two ingredients are needed – cream cheese and chocolate!

    I hope you enjoy them!

That’s great You’ll be famous yet. I’m low key. I just get the box of chocolates and more boxes on February 15th (50% off). 🙂

My favorite treat, and it seems to be everyone’s, at any time of year, is another super easy one: Ghirardelli triple chocolate brownies from the mix sold at Costco’s. There is simply no better brownie around, and I always feel guilty telling people the brownies are from a mix. But they are fantastic and super easy to make. Just be sure to follow the directions to not overbake. You want them chewy and not dried out. Enjoy!

Strawberries dipped in warm milk chocolate – its super easy to make, and its just beyond delicious. Also, sometimes I add in other fruits like mangoes or bananas. Its the best!

Wow!!! With all these fantastic suggestions it looks like Eve could compile her own cookbook of easy but yummy treat favorites! I’d be sure to pick up a copy!

I can pass on great chocolate cake (and chocolate icing) and apple cake recipes. But, admittedly, I will have to give credit to others for them. Let me know if you want them.

I don’t have my very own special recipe, but for Valentines day I usually make Crepes.
I fill them with Sour cream and Strawberries Preserves. Drizzle a little chocolate syrup on top
    OR
Chocolate Ice-cream wrapped up and drizzled with Chocolate Syrup.

    Amazing!

    I use this crepe recipe
[http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Breakfast-Crepes-108134] (you can leave the brandy out and they are still yummy).

Note, you don’t really need a ‘crepe’ pan to make these. The trick is to pour and spread the batter with smooth circular motion. I use the bottom of a ladle to do this. It works fine and is safer than picking the pan up and trying to swirl the batter into place. Heavy pans + little hands = risky.

** If crepes aren’t your thing try these toppings on waffles or pancakes. You are sure to have a sweet day.

Thanks for starting this blog! I am enjoying it.
